Edna D. Vandeburg

Edna D Vandeburg, 86 of Whitney Point passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025 after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert Vandeburg; parents, Ezra and Reva Whitmarsh; brothers, Myron and Glenn Whitmarsh; and sister, Evelyn Mitchell. She is survived by her 3 daughters, Karen (Charles) Stephenson, Diane Vandeburg and Cheryl Vandeburg (Doug Nesbitt); grandchildren, Christopher Sellers, Megan Allen, Nicole Stephenson (Andrew Gillette) and Jessica Stephenson (Storm Yarmy); great-grandchildren, Zoe Gillette and River Yarmy; sister, Bernice Lantz; and many nieces and nephews. Edna was very active in several local fire auxiliaries as well as at the state level. For many years she coordinated and ran the Firemen's parade for the Broome Country Fair with her husband. She was an avid puzzler, reader and she enjoyed doing sudoku For many years she was part of a bowling league and enjoyed her weekly time bowling and making new friends there.. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. She will be truly missed by everyone. A funeral service will be held at 6:00pm Tuesday, December 30 at Nichols Funeral Home, 7323 119 St, Whitney Point, NY 13862. Friends of the family may call from 4:00pm until the time of service at Nichols Funeral Home.
